She was so angry when we trapped her in the field behind our house in Virginia - wouldn't let anyone touch her, cried and clawed to get out of the temporary cage we set up for her. I initially used gloves when I tried to pet her - knowing that she was not happy about being trapped. She hissed everytime I came near her. It took several days of gentle pettting and soft discussion before she clamed down enough for me to bring her out of the cage. But now she's a totally different cat. Awww Midnight! You were smart to be careful at first, but you found a great forever home!
I was abandoned and I found my mom rather than the other way around. Still I was very skittish (sp?) at first and mom stocked up on bandaids for times I got scared and used my claws. Later, I gentled up and mom also discoved fingernail clippers are great for kitty pedicures.
So glad you found such a great forever home. It's good to be safe and loved!

Midnite, you are so pretty. And you are brave. I ask my Mom to be petted, but I don't get that close to her yet.
My dearest Astor Cats! I hope you do not think me too ungracious of a kitty for taking such a long time to return your visit. You can only imagine how happy I was to see you come cheer me on while I was so very sick. Mommy was heartbroken and thought for sure I would not regain any of my spirit and was prepared for the worst. But I was worth a small miracle. With your purrrayers and some good medicine, I have regained my strength day by day. Mommy would not have made it through her worries about me without your comfort. Each night we keep you in our prayers and wish you endless Blessings this Thanksgiving season.

Midnight how cute you are! I'm glad you got it good now, you deserve it. The Woman melted when she saw you. she lost two black cats before I came here. Vinny and Mousely. They were very old and that means the woman was crushed because they were with her so long. Black cats are her favoritist, so I imagine we will be adding one to my cat family one day if one knocks on the door and asks.
